The Kia Oval announces record revenue figures for 2014

World-class sporting, conference and events venue The Kia Oval in London, has announced that it has achieved its most successful year on record, with over a £1 million increase in revenue generated from its meeting, events and conferencing division.

In 2013 The Kia Oval’s conference and events division achieved £2.7 million in revenue, compared with this year’s figures which are expected to exceed £3.8 million from January 2014 – January 2015. This year-on-year growth of over £1million makes 2014 the most successful year to date for The Kia Oval’s expanding conference and events division.

These latest figures come thanks to a boost in the venue’s corporate conference, meetings and event bookings from a range of its Blue-chip clients, as well as a 150% increase in its private wedding bookings.

The Kia Oval was secured as the host venue for the World renowned, International Wine Challenge 2014-2015, alongside a variety of other key government, banking and educational events and roadshows, attracting key blue chip clients.

Also contributing to this success, the Kia Oval has implemented a company-wide development program, which has seen over £2.5m invested in its facilities over the past three years. These improvements include: a £2m revamp of the historic Members’ Pavilion in 2012, the transformation of its 540m2, luxurious Jardine Suite and a £250,000 development of The Corinthian Roof Terrace; a joint venture between The Kia Oval and Compass Group UK & Ireland which was completed in 2013, giving one of the ground’s most spectacular views some superb new modern facilities.

With this significant investment, The Kia Oval now offers a portfolio of 92 entertainment suites, as well as a unique outdoor space for functions, allowing the venue to not only provide high quality hospitality for its international sporting events, but also improved meeting, conference and events space for both corporate and private events in the London Borough.

During this time The Kia Oval’s sales team has also implemented a stringent account management plan and a new events booking system Delphi.hdc Salesforce, which has significantly improved the efficiency, management and running of the conference and events division, and allowed the sales team to improve its customer experience as well as managing a higher volume of clients and bookings.

The Kia Oval plans to continue to improve its facilities and develop its services to further attract business across London and the rest of the UK to utilise its space and increase business connectivity in the area.

The Kia Oval, home of Surrey County Cricket Club, is located between Vauxhall and Oval stations, and within easy reach of the City and West End. The venue has hosted some of the most iconic sporting events in history, as well as a variety of corporate conference, entertainment and teambuilding events. The venue now has a total of 92 event rooms which can cater for small groups of 7 to larger banqueting of 800 guests.

With close proximity from every room to the famous pitch, as well as spectacular sweeping views of the historic Pavilion, Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and the surrounding area, The Kia Oval offers the perfect platform to host product launches, corporate dinners, evening galas, team building events, conferences, meetings as well as a variety of private events and weddings.
