Three new conference contracts will see thousands of delegates travelling to three Swiss cities in 2015, 2016 and 2018.The 17th Conference on Power Electronics and Applications will take place in Geneva in September 2015. It will be hosted by CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), the centre that leads world research in particle physics.
The conference is expected to attract 2,000 delegates and is being organised in collaboration with the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale of Lausanne (EPFL), the prestigious Technical University located beside Lake Léman (Lake Geneva).
EPFL’s recent progress within the international rankings involves not only its School of Engineering, but also the Schools of Life Sciences and Computer and Communication Sciences, as well as Basic Sciences.
In November 2016 the new SwissTech Convention Centre in Lausanne will host an estimated 1,000 delegates at the GHGT Conference. This is now the established gathering for the sharing of information on greenhouse gas mitigation technologies. They will include academics and policy makers from the world’s power generation and equipment manufacturing sectors. The main themes will relate to the capture and storage of carbon dioxide.
Basel will be the venue in 2018 for a gathering of about 2,000 delegates to the Congress of the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS). This is a special topic for Switzerland, as Basel hosted the first of these conferences in 1972.
