Minister for Finance and Local Government attends the AIF Festival of Congress

Minister for Finance and Local Government, Edwina Hart,  attended the Association of Independent Festivals ‘Festival Congress’. As part of the events inspiring panellists, the Minister gave her support for National Events Month whilst commending its success and extensive industry backing for the campaign. The Minister was received  by Claire O’Neil, Senior Manager for the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF), and Britain for Events Campaign Director, Alistair Turner. Ms O’Neill and Mr Turner briefed the minister on the success of #NEMO over the past month, whilst also informing her of the work AIF have been doing to support this.

The Festival Congress was the host event for the #NEMO Outdoor, Cultural, Music and Sporting event week. With such a fantastic celebration of the outdoor events industry, the Festival Congress represented this event sector perfectly. The event also gave special thanks to all members of the industry who have made Britain’s events GREAT, followed by an outdoor events award party.
