LSO St Luke’s to host Lovie Awards 2014

LSO St Luke’s has announced it has won the contract to host the Lovie Awards for the fourth consecutive year.
The Lovie Awards, presented by Google and the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, recognise the unique and resonant nature of the European Internet community from Europe’s top web and creative networks and content publishers, to cultural and political organisations and bedroom bloggers. Winners of the awards this year include; Jamie Oliver as Lovie Person of the Year; Shazam as Lovie Best User Experience and Vogue as Lovie Best Design..

The event, for 400 people, will take place on 11th November at the venue’s Jerwood Hall. The awards will be hosted by critically-acclaimed comedian, writer and TV presenter Mark Dolan and be followed by an exclusive after party.

Steve Marchese, Executive Producer of the Lovie Awards, says: “LSO St Luke’s has become integral to the success of Lovies and its location close to the Old Street roundabout and burgeoning East London tech scene is perfect for our winners and other guests.”

The LSO is also a 2014 Lovie Award winner. Its web-based platform, LSO Play, which allows users to immerse themselves in the Orchestra in concert, has won a silver award in the ‘Website: Best User Experience’ category.

LSO St Luke’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Victoria Steinitz, says: “Having worked with the organising team from the outset we are delighted to be hosting the exciting Lovie Awards ceremony for a fourth year. The LSO winning a silver award demonstrates the breadth of the Orchestra’s work and its ability to stay at the cutting edge whilst continuing to honour many of the associated classical music traditions. Having friends and colleagues with us to celebrate during the event really is the icing on the cake.”
