Campaign to focus on £19.1bn conference marketNational Events Month kicked off yesterday with Conferences and Meetings Week, celebrating the 19.1bn UK congress, convention conference and large meetings sector.
With a total of £1.3 million meetings held in the UK each year, it is no surprise that conferences and meetings account for the majority of the UK events market, ghosting large exhibitions at £11bn, sporting events (£2.13bn), and music events and festivals (£2.4bn).
Regular corporate conference and meetings can help industries and businesses share knowledge, provide continual professional development, improve employee communication and organisation strategy.
One of the key conferences taking place during the opening week of #NEMO will be the Liberal Democrats Conference.
The event takes place 4th - 8th October in Glasgow’s very own SECC, home to much of the Commonwealth Games this summer. The event will include the unveiling of Nick Clegg’s manifesto for the next generation, the Liberal Democrat pre-manifesto 2015, a conference film night and much more.
National Events Month is a celebration of how GREAT Britain’s event industry is, as part of the annual Britain for Events campaign. The promotional month will consist of four event weeks, including the conferences and meetings week.
