ICC Birmingham invests in new Performance Audio System for its largest hall

The International Convention Centre (ICC), part of the NEC Group, has invested in the latest Performance Audio System for Hall 3 in its continued drive to maximise the client and delegate experience.
The state of the art Performance Audio System has a total of 18 speakers and 4 subwoofers ensuring sound can be heard clearly throughout the purpose built conference venue’s largest hall. The ICC has also invested in a highly functional yet compact Digital SD9 Mixing Desk designed to meet needs of any conference, exhibition or awards ceremony.

A stylish exhibition space of up to 3,050sqm, Hall 3 is supported by side offices. If being used as a conference room, Hall 3 is the largest of the ICC’s halls and can host a staggering 3,000 delegates with state-of-the-art presentation technology and layout flexibility that can be tailored to client’s needs. As a banqueting venue, Hall 3 can entertain over 2,000 guests. Whatever the hall is being used for, the new equipment guarantees the very best in audio.

Paul Dipple, Technical Event Services Manager and his team at the ICC undertook a vigorous selection process, including two days’ worth of listening to different options available in order to decide which gave the best coverage for the hall and provided the highest quality sound.

The new system was installed by local supplier SSE Audio based in Redditch. They worked closely with the ICC’s in house audio technicians to tweak the system to give optimum coverage and quality of sound reproduction.
Allan Boyle, Director of Event Services at the ICC said, “We are delighted to have the latest Performance Audio System and Digital SD9 Mixing Desk in Hall 3 which will give our clients and customers an improved experience. We will use our expertise to help clients get the very best from the new equipment.”
