A new expression of urban Japanese diningLocated below ROKA Charlotte Street, the underground Shochu Lounge is getting set to celebrate its 10th anniversary with the launch of Shochu Kanteen.
Famous for its modern Japanese cocktail creations and distilled shochu infusions, Shochu is now taking on a new midweek energy with quick, casual, daytime dining.
On the menu will be shredded lamb shoulder hirata buns with Korean chili and pickled cucumber; steaming bowls of Tokyo-style soy ramen with cha shu pork, bamboo shoots and soft egg or miso ramen with corn, spring onion and sesame seeds.
Lighter bites will also feature including prawn and asparagus gyoza with chili ponzu and Japanese inspired salad selections such as edamame and mixed beans with chili and bonito flakes. For dessert, daily changing tsubo pots such as chocolate soy and vanilla peanut or dori yaki pancakes with various fillings like tonka bean cream will be available.
For an instant vitamin kick, nutritious fresh juices such as pear & avocado or ginger & beetroot will be offered as an alternative to the Shochu cocktail list.
Grab a bowl, mix it up, and create your own in this fast-paced, accessible and fun Japanese style Kanteen.
All dishes will be exclusive to Shochu Kanteen, prepared and cooked daily by the chefs in the kitchen at ROKA.
Shochu Kanteen will open for lunch only Monday-Friday from the 15th September 2014.
