First-week ticket sales up 7% for 2015 British Grand Prix

Silverstone has heralded this year’s FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX as one of the best and most successful in years, and it would appear that fans are in agreement. Following a hugely successful 50th Grand Prix, which attracted Silverstone’s third-highest Race Day crowd and saw British winner Lewis Hamilton take the chequered flag on home soil for the first time since 2008, F1® fans have been racing to book their tickets for next year’s event.

First week ticket sales for the 2015 FORMULA 1 BRITISH GRAND PRIX are up seven per cent compared with the same sales period in 2013. Richard Phillips, Silverstone’s Managing Director, puts the success of the first week down to a fantastic British Grand Prix weekend, and the circuit’s ‘Early Bird’ incentive offer, which presents savings of up to £36 per person.  

Phillips commented: “The British Grand Prix was a huge success this year and we are already seeing the effects of this in our ticket sales for 2015. The free F1® Pit Walk on Thursday, Kaiser Chiefs concert and Heritage Parades on each day of the event created a real four-day festival, and with Lewis winning his home race, there was no better way to celebrate our 50th Grand Prix.  

“Feedback from the fans has been overwhelmingly positive and we are really pleased with early ticket sales. At this year’s British Grand Prix, sales for next year’s event were the best we’ve ever had. Fans are really making the most of the ‘Early Bird’ ticket offer, with sales in the first week up seven per cent compared with the same time last year. We’re committed to making the event bigger and better each year, and we are already busy planning another four-day festival for 2015.”
