The Home of Saracens Rugby opens the Rugby World Cup 2015 Try Outs

The Home of Saracens Rugby , has opened the beginning of a six month campaign to find the 6,000 volunteers who will form The Pack for Rugby World Cup 2015, Hosted in England between September 18 – October 31, 2015. The ‘Try Outs’, volunteer selection events, will be hosted in all 13 Rugby World Cup 2015 host cities between June and December 2014.

The Home of Saracens Rugby is hosting the first round of Try Outs between June 3 and June 18, which coincided with National Volunteer Week (June 1-7) and saw a visit from England Rugby 2015 CEO, Debbie Jevans, and The Minister for Civil Society, Nick Hurd, responsible or volunteering.

Much more than just an interview, prospective members of The Pack will enjoy a full 60 minute experience as part of the Try Out and the north London venue has been transformed to include and interactive RWC exhibition, cinema, changing room with uniform measurement station. This experience will take place in the Olympic Bar, a large, industrial space that can hold up to 2,000 people. The room is named after the 2012 Olympic Games 100 metre warm-up track, used by star athletes including Usain Bolt, Mo Farrah and Jessica Ennis, which was installed in February 2013.

It has been selected by as a location for the Volunteer Interview Programme. Over 20,000 people applied to be part of The Pack and 10,000 will go through to the Try Outs to find the final 6,000 volunteers who will welcome the world to England and to the Game of Rugby in 2015.

“We are thrilled to host the first of the Try Outs for Rugby World Cup 2015,” says Neil Ormondroyd, event director at The Home of Saracens Rugby , “and we look forward to welcoming thousands of rugby fans as well as though new to the game through our doors. 2015 will be a really exciting year for rugby and we are proud to be involved, in terms of offering a great venue, as well as hopefully having some of our Saracens players in the England team.”

We’re looking forward to the remainder of days spent here and we have received fantastic feedback form all those who have taken part in the Try Outs so far.”

The stadium’s other facilities include the Tulip, 100 Club and Fez, which were all designed for flexibility and can be opened up in to one large space or used as three stand-alone events spaces. Each room benefits from floor-to-ceiling windows, which provide natural daylight, as well as private bar facilities. The Players’ Lounge and The Boardroom have stunning pitch views and add a touch of exclusivity to any event.
