New leading trade fair is a unique platform for the petrol station sectorFrom 3 to 5 June 2014, Messe Stuttgart opened its doors to the first UNITI expo – the new leading international trade fair for everything to do with petrol stations. Every two years, this international exhibition presents the numerous aspects of the petrol station industry, from technology to shop concepts and convenience products.
At its premiere, 344 exhibitors from 29 countries showcased their latest products and services to almost 10,000 visitors on a total of 35,000 square metres in two exhibition halls and at the ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart. A success that is even more remarkable in view of the high expectations: “At present, there is nothing that compares to UNITI expo”, says Elmar Kühn, General Manager of the UNITI federal association of medium-sized mineral oil companies, highlighting the importance of the event. “Whether they are operators of petrol stations, car washes or mineral oil distributors – we’re seeing how UNITI expo is bridging a gap in all areas”, says Kühn.
Besides the trade fair, UNITI expo provided a comprehensive programme of lectures and training events for leaseholders and petrol station operators with its Industry dialogue for petrol stations, while national and international experts exchanged views on the latest trends and issues of future strategies in The future forum for petrol stations. Forward looking lectures gave insights into experiences with biofuels in the US market, innovative exhaust gas systems to reduce emissions and the use of hydrogen filling stations in Europe and the United States.
The target market of UNITI expo is enormous. UNITI and the MWV Association of the German Petroleum Industry alone represent 12,500 petrol stations in Germany. Various multinational companies, international associations and trade journals are also partners.
Stefan Lohnert, Division Director Guest Events at Messe Stuttgart, is also delighted about the acquisition: “UNITI expo operates precisely at the junction of our key industries of automotive, trade and IT, and it underscores our desire to promote new ideas and technologies from Stuttgart at an international level, too. The organiser’s decision to use Stuttgart as their trade fair venue emphasises the outstanding reputation that our facilities currently enjoy in these industries.” The Guest Events division plans to bring further high-calibre exhibitions, congresses and corporate events of these sectors to Messe Stuttgart in the next few years.
