Qatar presents White Night at the Desert

This month marks the latest event in Qatar’s much-anticipated desert safari experiences, White Night at the Desert, hosted by Arabian Adventures.
On Friday 25th April 2014 the desert sands will echo with the dulcet tones of the Doha String Quartet and Moroccan singer Abderrahim Mouissi. The evening marks a new direction for Qatar as it showcases the country’s classical musical offerings.

The festivities commence late afternoon with an optional desert safari from 3pm, where guests can head off the beaten track to experience ‘dune-bashing’ - the ultimate in desert excitement and a must for thrill-seekers.

Following the heart-racing ride, relax and unwind whilst enjoying the refined sounds of the string quartet whilst marvelling at the desert’s breathtaking beauty. As the evening draws to a close and the glittering night sky prevails, the group will gather round the camp fire and enjoy marshmallows, delicious Arabic coffee and tea accompanied by traditional story-telling.

The event is the latest to be organised by Arabian Adventures, which have been taking place on a monthly basis since May 2013. The events aim to bring together locals and visitors in a festival spirit, combining the culture and adventure activities of the destination whilst enhancing and extending the desert safari experience into the evening. Each month a different cultural aspect is celebrated, from capoeira (Brazilian martial art), salsa, samba, drumming under a full moon, and now presenting the string quartet.

Arabian Adventures’ monthly events add to an already extensive list of cultural experiences on offer in Qatar, including awe-inspiring architecture and a number of diverse museums offering a fascinating taste of local culture and traditions, in a diverse and pioneering Middle Eastern setting.
