Upper Deck Bar reopens for a summer of sunshine and offers

Central London’s unique destination bar, Upper Deck Bar, reopens today with an exciting new menu and beverage selection fresh for summer 2014. The Sodexo Prestige venue, which is positioned adjacent to the iconic warship HMS Belfast, offers spectacular views of historic London landmarks including Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and City Hall.

The open-air terraced bar seats up to 50 guests for dinner and drinks and is also available for private hire.  With seating positioned along the perimeter of the bar, guests can enjoy the panoramic views whilst watching the sun set over London until 10pm; the perfect destination to enjoy an Aperol Spritz, this summer’s special sun-downer cocktail.

To mark the reopening of the Upper Deck Bar, Sodexo Prestige has hand-picked a selection of prime and rare breed meats, to be freshly grilled, accompanied by a new wine list. The dessert menu will include daily and seasonal specials such as English strawberries and cream.

Andrew Buckmaster, General Manager at the Upper Deck Bar, said: “We are delighted to offer diners a refreshed menu to enjoy whilst taking in the stunning views from one of the most unique venues in London. I’d also encourage anyone who is looking to organise a private party or summer event to consider the Upper Deck Bar. What better way to soak up the vibrant London atmosphere?”

Enjoying al-fresco dining and drinks on the Thames is a preferred pastime for Londoners and tourists alike, and with a hot summer forecast this year, the Upper Deck Bar offers the perfect opportunity to combine sight-seeing with a gourmet meal and specially selected wine.  Situated on the bank of the River Thames, the Upper Deck Bar is in the ideal location to visit HMS Belfast, part of IWM (Imperial War Museums).

Phil Reed, Director at HMS Belfast, commented, “The Upper Deck Bar provides the perfect combination of old and new. With the historic warship positioned just metres away from the sleek modern architecture of the Upper Deck Bar.  The juxtaposition of the two venues creates a truly unique environment for a destination bar.”

Offering 360 degree views of world-renowned London landmarks and a delicious menu of seasonal favourites, the Upper Deck Bar is a one-of-a-kind venue.
