Organized by IFEMA, this edition will also feature an intensive programme of workshops where industry experts will share their experiences and success stories; an agenda of activities sponsored by the exhibitors; and the ceremony at which the first Panorama Prizes for excellence in the audiovisual industry will be awarded.
From 20 to 22 May 2014 the Feria de Madrid pavilions will be home to BIT Broadcast 2014, the International Exhibition of Audiovisual Technology, a meeting place for professionals at the cutting edge of changes in the sector. Alongside traditional broadcasting, the Fair will showcase a variety of contents including the latest solutions for multichannel and device broadcasting, OTT services, cinema, radio, and television production, and others designed to meet the growing AV demand in areas like digital signage, dynamic advertising, museums, control, etc, and the latest ideas in projection and display.
More than a hundred companies will be exhibiting their latest products at Bit Broadcast 2014, proof of the progress of a genuinely innovative industry and its capacity to respond to current business and and distribution models. They include established brands such as Sony, Grass Valley, Harmonic, Harris, Pesa, and Ross Video, as well as leading Spanish integrators like Eurocom and Aicox, and top equipment distributors like Ceproma, Neovideo, and Videocine Import.
Industry pros who visit Bit Broadcast will find solutions from exhibitors such as AEQ, Actuonda, Altair, and Worldcast (radio); Avid and Editshare (postproduction); Brainstorm and Orad (graphics); Albiral (monitoring), and ARRI, Canon, and Iconix (video shooting).
The exhibition will also feature the latest in accessories from makers including Angenieux, Cartoni, Schneider Optics, Tiffen, and Zeiss; cabling and signal distribution solutions from Percon and AVP, and an extensive range of test and measuring systems offered by Leader, Rohde & Schwarz, Volicon, and others.
Companies such as JB Lighting and ARRI will be at the forefront in studio lighting, while Tedial and VSN, two Spanish companies with a strong international presence, will be unveiling their latest MAM and BPM solutions. The new over-the-top added value content and service distribution platforms will also be well represented with the presence of leading brands like Arkena and Albertis Telecom.
A dynamic programme of activities and worshops
As well as the latest audiovisual projects, BIT Broadcast 2014 also finds time for a dynamic programme of activities and workshops that will bring together prominent experts and industry professionals to share their experiences and success stories, and talk about the latest technologies. Two-way dialogue and active participation in small groups is encouraged. Altogether, there will be 75 half-hour workshops where participants can exchange information on successful projects.
The workshops will be rounded off with an extensive programme of activities sponsored by the exhibitors in order to create a synergy-generating environment and provide new opportunities for business and networking with leading players in the sector.
The inaugural Panorama Awards
New this year is the ceremony for the inaugural Panorama Awards for excellence and innovation in the audiovisual industry organized by the specialized magazine Panorama Audiovisual. It will take place on opening day, Tuesday 20 May.
The awards are designed to give a boost to the sector by encouraging organizations to make use of technology to be more competitive and to give recognition to the most innovative projects and productions. There are 13 categories honouring achievement in the fields of equipment and technological solutions, installations and projects, television and radio production and techniques, cinema production, and advertising spots. And there is also Toda una Vida, the Panorama Prize for Lifetime Achievement in television, cinema, radio, or advertising technology.
