Merlin Events hosts inaugural ‘Madame Tussauds Lates’ event

Madame Tussauds Lates
On Wednesday 26th March, Merlin Events hosted the very first after hours ‘Madame Tussauds Lates’ event for the public and industry professionals including representatives from MasterCard and Mediacom.
Following on from the success of the ‘After Dark’ series hosted at the SEA LIFE London Aquarium and the London Dungeon (which sees event organisers mix with consumers in a vibrant environment enjoying food and entertainment by preferred suppliers) the Merlin Events team created a new event experience for 2014; ‘Madame Tussauds Lates’ which immerses guests in the creation process of the notorious wax figures.

250 guests arrived to a red carpet reception and hopped on black taxis for a ride through 400 years of London’s captivating history. Corks popped in the Party reception room where guests received the VIP treatment and were handed a glass of fizz while they mingled with A-List stars.

The talented studio team behind the development of the startling realistic wax figures provided guests with a 360 view of the meticulous process. Meandering through each event space guests were addressed by a member of the studio team discussing the sculpting process, wardrobe, skin colouring and hair insertion and colouring. Questions were welcomed and a few secrets revealed to the delight of guests. There was also an opportunity for guests to have their hands moulded in coloured wax which they could keep.

Before departing guests braved their way through the chilling Chamber of Horrors and enjoyed the Marvel Super Heroes 4D adventure film short in the Stardome.

More dates will be scheduled throughout the year for ‘Madame Tussauds Lates’.
