Waxstock has attracted 50 exhibitors from across the UK as well as first-time exhibitors from Singapore and Germany for the one-day show inside the Jaguar Exhibition Hall from 9am until 5pm on Sunday, July 27.
Around 1,500 visitors are expected to attend to enjoy product testing, demonstrations and bargain hunting at the largest event of its kind in Europe for car care, detailing and valeting..
There will be Show and Shine competitions, advice from the Detailing Doctor for curing vehicles of poor bodywork and a Demonstration Car and Demonstration Zone.
Dom Colbeck, part of the organisation team of Waxstock, said they were moving to the Ricoh Arena to grow the event.
He said: “We attract different audiences – it is a show for professional valeters and detailers as well as the general public interested in looking after their cars perhaps because they want to safeguard their investment or because they are prepping a car for sale.
“We will have a training area for people to try equipment, see the latest products demonstrated and gain advice from experts in the field.
“There is also the best Show and Shine competition in the UK – the Detailing World Showdown – for owners to show off their gleaming vehicles. The shine of the paintwork and standard of preparation is the best you will see.
“Anyone who is a professional valeter, detailer or thinking about a change of career to the profession will find the show particularly interesting because there is the opportunity to make trade contacts, find out about trade insurance and how to buy products at wholesale rates.
“Holding Waxstock at the Ricoh Arena means we can have all the different aspects of the show in one place.
“Exhibitors can travel the day before to set-up, attend our trade dinner in the complex during the evening, play in the on-site G Casino until late and then stay overnight in the Ricoh Arena De Vere Hotel. In the morning, they walk 50 yards from where they have breakfast to their stand. “This is a niche show which we want to grow not only year-on-year, but in terms of its worldwide reputation.”
Angela Perkins, head of sales at the Ricoh Arena, said this was a chance for car care enthusiasts to gain advice from the professionals.
“Waxstock is an unbeatable combination of demonstrations, tutorials, samples, socialising and shopping and when the cars are all lined-up in the Show and Shine competitions it is a sight to behold – it always makes me think I must clean my car more often!” she said.
“The Ricoh Arena not only has the benefit of a fantastic location in the heart of England but has the facilities for shows to be able to increase in size.
“I am sure Waxstock will shine at its new home as the top experts in the car aftercare sector travel to the Ricoh Arena to showcase their products to visitors from all over the UK.”
