Keith Prowse report high-demand for cricket at Edgbaston

Despite England’s disappointment in the recent Ashes Series against Australia, Edgbaston Stadium’s official hospitality provider Keith Prowse is seeing high-demand for packages at the central England ground ahead of the 2014 cricket season.

England fans are particularly hungry for revenge after India clinched 2013’s ICC Champions Trophy at Edgbaston in 2013. Demand for tickets to 2nd September’s Royal London One-Day International (ODI) is buoyant as both home and away fans are keen to witness the action this year.  To underline this high-demand, the first-phase of ticket sales to see India at Edgbaston for the NatWest International IT20 Match, 7th September, sold out in record time.

Keith Prowse, the official hospitality provider at the ground has also noted a 36% increase in demand for cricket matches compared to this time last year. Subsequently the company is encouraging guests to book hospitality packages early to avoid disappointment and secure places for the NatWest IT20 England v India match.

Edgbaston completed a £32 million redevelopment in 2011 and boasts some of the finest hospitality facilities in modern stadia, as well as being renowned for having arguably the best atmosphere in world cricket.

Megan Collins, marketing manager at Keith Prowse, said: “We may only be just entering into 2014, but people are already booking ahead for the summer.  The India matches are always highly coveted, hence the huge demand.  We are thrilled to be the official hospitality provider at Edgbaston and strive to provide premium packages in line with their first-class facilities. Keith Prowse is constantly looking to develop the hospitality offering to be adaptable and responsive to our customers’ needs. We have some exciting new developments on the back of customer research that we are implementing this year at Aegon Championships, especially our new ‘Hybrid’ hospitality packages.”

In addition to the matches against India, Edgbaston also hosts England v Sri Lanka in a Royal London ODI on 3rd June and finals day of the new NatWest T20 Blast domestic competition on 23rd August.

Ahead of finals day, Edgbaston hosts seven home matches for the Birmingham Bears in the NatWest T20 Blast between May and July, with five of these matches being played on Friday evenings.
