Norcia’s International Black Truffle Fair

Umbrian mountain town of Norcia

21st – 23rd February & 28th February – 2nd March 2014

During the last two weekends of February the Umbrian mountain town of Norcia is hosting one of Italy’s most renowned truffle festivals, which attracts an international audience and will give food lovers the chance to enjoy total gastronomic immersion.

Stands in Piazza San Benedetto will sell an abundance of black truffles, which grow in the surrounding Sibillini National Park along with other culinary specialities of the region such as salumi, local cheeses, wild boar and the lentils of Castellucio di Norica. During the fair there will also will be cultural events, entertainment and demonstrations of historic professions such as the art of producing cured meats as well as guided tastings of wines and a mountain of salamis and local cheeses for guests to sample.  

Stay at Palazzo Seneca, located just seconds away Piazza San Benedetto, where you can sample the regional delicacies in the gourmet Vespasia restaurant and Palazzo Seneca also arrange truffle hunting trips and visits to local producers.
