Bartender Battle at D&DThe esteemed restaurant group D&D is letting the good times roll and libations flow this January with the first annual Konick’s Tail Cocktail Competition.
Open to all D&D employees, the cocktail competition launches on 14 January at the chic South Place Hotel with an engaging Konik’s Tail cocktail master-class hosted by Pleurat Shabani, the founder and creator of Konik’s Tail handcrafted vodka.
The final showdown will be hosted at The Old Bengal Warehouse, 20 January, where entrants will muddle, mix, shake, stir, and pour their inventive concoctions. The winner will receive a bespoke Konik’s Tail copper still, a complementary night stay at South Place Hotel and a personalised pair of Konik’s Tail Converse Trainers.

This is exactly what expert judges Des Gunewardena, Chairman & CEO of D&D and Rebecca Seal, journalist, TV presenter, author and resident drinks expert on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch, will be looking for when sipping and savouring the distinctive creations. Each entrant’s innovative cocktail will be awarded points for appearance, creativity, taste, overall impression and each entrant will participate in a Q&A about the cocktail name, history and the Konik’s Tail story – a true test of knowledge and skill.

As an added incentive, the winning cocktail recipe will be available for guests at South Place Hotel for a limited time alongside their seasonal cocktail menu. With interiors by Conran + Partners, menus overseen by Executive Chef, Tony Fleming, specially commissioned artwork and resident DJ Teamy, 3 South Place Bar buzzes with energy and confidence from dawn till late into the night making it the perfect location to launch this exciting competition and sample the winning cocktail.
