Summer Camp success as Manchester Central chosen as first major venue

Directors from summer camps across the USA will visit Manchester Central next year to recruit youngsters into coveted positions.
During Smaller Earth’s Summer Camp Job Fair in January 2014, face-to-face interviews will be held with hundreds of young people looking to get a much sought-after nine-week job in a USA camp.
A variety of positions will be up for grabs in areas such as sports, performing arts, outdoor pursuits, hospitality and special needs.

Following a successful number of events in smaller venues in hotels in Edinburgh, London and Manchester, the fair has grown in popularity over the years. Such is its growth it now requires a major venue to host it. Manchester Central, the North of England’s leading exhibition, conference and events venue has been chosen to help take the event to the next level.

Angie Robinson, Chief Executive of Manchester Central, said: “The Summer Camp Job Fair has moved from strength-to-strength over the years. I can see this event only growing in size and popularity in the future and I’m delighted that Manchester Central has been chosen to help it achieve its aspirations.”

Chris Coventry, Marketing and Promotions Manager at Smaller Earth, said: “Manchester is a great location, accessible to many heavily student-populated cities.  As we've grown as a business we have looked to move to Manchester Central and we are so excited for our biggest event to date.”

Participants will register their interest for the fair and complete an online application at
There will also be opportunities to find out more about the other programs Smaller Earth (parent company) offers including Resort Jobs in Canada, Au Pair and Work & Travel Australia.
