Christmas Puddings invade Covent Garden

Christmas pudding race
Now in its 33rd year, the Christmas Pudding Race is once again getting ready to convert Covent Garden into a giant obstacle course all in aid of Cancer Research UK.
On Saturday 7th December, Mr Pudding, Facebook and Twitter’s most popular pudding, will be hosting his annual Great Christmas Pudding Race on the historic cobbles of the West Piazza Covent Garden.  This year 10 teams will tackle Mr Pudding’s world famous obstacle course. Course highlights include two inflatable airbeds and the snowstorm slalom.

The event kicks off at 11.15am with a Zumba warm up led by Covent Garden’s own Pineapple Dance Studios. In-between the two heats the crowds will be entertained by Viva La Bop the vintage jazz trio.

As well as acting as a great excuse to run around Covent Garden in fancy dress, the event has a serious purpose. More than 1 in 3 people will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime and as well as raising awareness, Mr Pudding is aiming to raise over £20,000 which will help fund some of the lifesaving research Cancer Research UK are currently undertaking.
