The BAA is the largest UK association for the hearing and balance profession. Its 10th Annual Conference will be staged at Manchester Central on 18-19 November.
The event follows The British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) 26th Annual Scientific Meeting, which was held at Manchester Central on 13-15 November.
The two events combined will see more than 1,500 UK-based and international delegates arrive in Manchester, many of whom are leading bodies in their respective fields.
The BAA and BSIR conferences follow a succession of medical events being hosted at Manchester Central, including the British Cardiovascular Society’s Annual Conference, the 27th British Orthodontic Conference and the 18th World Congress on Disaster and Emergency Medicine - all held at Manchester Central earlier in 2013.
The venue is set to continue its success in hosting medical events, with the International Conference on Urban Health scheduled to take place in March 2014.
Angie Robinson, Chief Executive of Manchester Central, said: “Manchester is a world leader in medical research and as the convention centre lies at the heart of the city centre, Manchester Central is a fitting choice for national and international organisers staging leading medical events.”
Adam Beckman, President of the British Academy of Audiology, said: “We are thrilled to be returning to Manchester Central for the second year in a row to host our annual conference. Our programme will welcome over 700 delegates and highly esteemed speakers from as far afield as the USA, Egypt and Australia.”
Dr Iain Robertson, President of the BSIR, said: “We’re delighted to welcome some prestigious speakers from both the UK and internationally to Manchester Central. We have a stimulating, educational and entertaining agenda prepared for delegates at the event.”
