Searcys, the restaurant and bar operator famed for its Champagne Bars, St Pancras Grand Brasserie, and private members club at the top of the Gherkin, will be adding to its repertoire when the restaurant opens on the fourth floor on November 23rd.
The high-end restaurant and bar company are looking to offer the city a stylish and contemporary restaurant with a quirky menu and upbeat vibe.
The brasserie will focus on original, fun and indulgent food for the fashionistas of Birmingham. Open every day from 10am through to 10pm, visitors can expect traditional favourites such as fish and chips, as well as quirkier dishes including chorizo hash browns and chicken and waffles. The brasserie will also offer an extensive Champagne list, afternoon tea and unusual seasonal treats including plant pot cakes, edible flower cocktails and brussel sprout tapas.
As part of the new opening, the bar has been developed in partnership with Moét & Chandon and will include their full range of Champagnes with a particular emphasis on Rosés.
Searcys Marketing Director, Chris Maddison comments: “We are very pleased to become a part of what is one of the most iconic buildings in the country. Searcys already operate in some well-known UK landmarks, so to add the Selfridges building to our collection is extremely exciting. Selfridges is known for its cutting-edge, bold and stylish personality, and The Balcony will very much aim to reflect this.”
Vicki Cain, General Manager at Selfridges comments: “Searcys is very much synonymous with outstanding quality and service, so visitors can expect only the best from The Balcony. The menu won’t be afraid to differ from the norm so the food offering will be like nothing seen in Birmingham before. We’re very excited to open the restaurant’s doors and provide the city with a brand new dining experience.”
