Charnwood Training Group helps Coxmoor Golf Club celebrate centenary

Charnwood Training Group
On Saturday 12th October 2013 Coxmoor Golf Club, Nottinghamshire, hosted a gala dinner to celebrate their 100th year anniversary. 300 guests were treated to a sumptuous three-course meal with canapés, prepared and served entirely by a team of Charnwood Training Group’s young apprentices and unemployed learners, all of whom are looking for employment opportunities in the hospitality industry.

The menu, specially designed for the evening, included delicious dishes such as: turkey roulade, filled with an apricot and sage stuffing and delicate, individual lemon tarts with Chantilly cream and berry coulis.  Each of the dishes served were chosen to highlight the different culinary techniques and methods that Charnwood teaches trainees to prepare them for a professional career in hospitality.

Commenting on the significance of the event, Paul Buchan, head of business development at Charnwood Training Group said: ‘These events give our learners an excellent opportunity to put their developing skills into practice and gain some real experience in hospitality. We have been providing hospitality and catering training to Coxmoor Golf Club for nearly three years now and we are grateful for the support and trust they have placed in our learners for such a prestigious event as their centenary.’
