Over 2,500 visitors are expected to put the gloss on the UK’s largest annual trade show for painters and decorators at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
The award-winning venue is hosting the National Painting and Decorating Show for the sixth successive year in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall.

Around 80 exhibitors are travelling from all over the UK as well as America, India, France, Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy and Spain to attend the free show between 9.30am and 4pm on Tuesday, November 19 and Wednesday, November 20.

There will be demonstrations, products available to buy, an opportunity to play darts with Simon ‘The Wizard’ Whitlock and a programme of speakers and master classes every 30 minutes in applications, techniques, new coatings and advice on best practice along with goody bags for visitors who have pre-booked.

Terry Dullaway, of show organisers PDS Promotions Ltd, said exhibitor and visitor numbers continued to steadily rise year-on-year.

He said: “The Ricoh Arena is a very good exhibition venue since it is visitor friendly and it is easy for exhibitors to set-up and break down.

“The most important aspect is its geographical catchment area. Over the last few years, visitors have been increasing from all parts of the UK which is encouraging since we are a national event and hosting the show in the Midlands means people can travel from all over the UK within a drive time of a couple of hours.

“Internationally we have seen an increase in exhibitors from overseas and since we are the only national exhibition for painters and decorators in the UK we are attracting attention from all parts of the world.

“The show gives manufacturers the chance to showcase the latest ideas and innovations available in the painting and decorating world by giving demonstrations and chatting to customers as well as holding workshops.

“This will be the 19th year we have held the event for individuals, businesses, stockists and suppliers and it looks set to be the biggest and best yet.”

Chris Owen, senior events manager at the Ricoh Arena, said the National Painting and Decorating Show attracted a mix of multi-nationals and SMEs.

He said: “The organisers of the National Painting and Decorating Show are one of our longest clients and it underlines that we have the facilities for exhibitions to be able to grow at the Ricoh Arena.

“Our location in the heart of the Midlands along with its proximity to the M6 together with our state-of-the-art exhibition centre are major plus points in attracting – and retaining – annual events.

“Visitor numbers have risen by 30 per cent over the last two years which emphasises the show’s popularity with everyone connected with the industry and we wish the organisers the best of luck in hosting another memorable event.”
