BVI launches inaugural Lobster Festival at annual Restaurant Week

A vibrant collective of over 60 islands, each boasting their own special beauty and character, the BVI is a beacon of diverse Caribbean cuisine. Following the unprecedented success of its first Restaurant Week in 2012 the festival is now returning for a second year from 22nd November – 1st December 2013.

Bringing together the eclectic gastronomy of over 40 restaurants across Tortola, Anegada, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke, visitors will be able to enjoy elaborate meals at special rates ranging from £13 to £30 for a 3-6 course meal for dinner; £6 to £10 for lunch and £4 to £6 for breakfast. Each fixed menu at participating restaurants will include a complimentary drink, offering guests the rare opportunity of luxury dining at exceptional rates – all in the relaxed and pristine setting of the stunning BVI.

Bringing live music, special events including celebrity cook-off (22nd November) and VIP dinner (21st November) and a flurry of foodies to the islands, the festival will offer many highlights to engage and excite taste-buds from all over the world. This year’s main attraction however, will be the inaugural Anegada Lobster Festival, held on its namesake’s beautiful archipelago shores. A famed lobster-lover location, Anegada’s waters are full of these colourful crustaceans; and from 30 November to 1 December, visitors can indulge in the tasty Caribbean lobster dishes prepared by award-winning local and international chefs across 10 different specialist restaurants.

Mouth-watering lobster served grilled, jerked, curried, ceviche, broiled, stewed and so much more – this festival will offer an unforgettable culinary experience and weekend party that goes into the night with music and entertainment for friends and family, young and old.

The first annual Anegada Lobster Festival takes place on November 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and December 1, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
