Gok Wan appearing at Healthy Living Expo in Coventry

Television presenter and fashion expert Gok Wan will be appearing at the Healthy Living Expo at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
The two-day show is an A-Z of the benefits of healthy eating and exercise with a range of stands, presentations and workshops between 9.30am and 5.30pm on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.

There will be free health checks, an activity zone, yoga village and beauty and male grooming along with information on complementary and natural remedies, fitness and exercise, healthy eating and nutrition, and weight loss, weight management and safe dieting.

Leicester-born fashion guru Gok Wan will be signing copies of his new cook book Gok’s Wok on his stand on October 20 at the event which is being held in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall, Halls 3, 4 and 5 and Club Jaguar.

Organiser Kwoklyn Wan said the aim of the show was to encourage people to live a healthier lifestyle. He said: “Healthy Living Expo is centred on giving advice on health for everybody from children to pensioners and includes those who are very fit or anyone who feels they need to lose a few pounds.

“We have a vast range of experts to give advice on healthy eating and exercise but we also take a holistic approach to look at spiritual and mental wellbeing.

“The Health Exchange will give on-the-spot checks and advice on blood pressure, BMI and diabetes which will be useful for those suffering from a long-term condition or want to take the first steps to getting fit and more active.

“My brother, Gok, will be chatting to visitors and signing copies of his book Gok’s Wok which concentrates on making fresh and healthy meals which backs up the whole ethos of the show.

“We will have around 100 exhibitors along to this first Healthy Living Expo at the Ricoh Arena along with a packed timetable of presentations from expert speakers on subjects ranging from Tai Chi to Bollywood Dance and Fitness. “We are hoping anyone with an interest in improving their health and diet will come along and talk to our experts to help reach their goals.”

Chris Owen, senior events manager at the Ricoh Arena, said the purpose of Healthy Living Expo was to help people look, feel and live better.

He said: “Every subject area connected with fitness and health is covered in this two-day show at the Ricoh Arena and it will give visitors practical advice from experts in their particular field so there will be something of interest for everyone.

“Healthy Living Expo is a terrific example of the diversity of the shows we hold every week at the Ricoh Arena and underlines the fact organisers can take over the entire venue if it suits their needs.”
