The fourth Showcase highlighted the best of Essex venues including the Crowne Plaza Colchester Five Lakes Resort, the Ceme Centre and Venue Essex as well as some lesser known venues such as Fennes and Forrester Park.
The event kicked off at the newest of the Holiday Inns in Essex at Southend Airport where guests enjoyed breakfast, networking and presentations. After which they were taken to the newly named Royal Pavilion at the end of Southend pier – 1.3miles out at sea. Here they enjoyed lunch made from the finest Essex produce and afternoon tea with local Wilkin & Sons Tiptree preserves and Rossi ice cream (which has been made in Southend for over 80 years), whilst being entertained by the Gershwin Gang Jazz Band.
Guests were able to chat with representatives from 20 Essex venues all suitable for conferences, meetings and events , whilst seeing the Royal Pavilion in event mode.
Gordon Owen from Messrs. G. W. Owen said “The event was an overwhelming success with positive networks and synergies which over the coming months will be progressed and followed through. Numerous Essex venues already used in the past, and it’s always good to be updated on not only what is available, but the changes and resources that are developing, so again valued the occasion”. Visit Essex for Business is the official organisation promoting venues in the county for conferences, meetings and events.
