Thanksgiving 2013 at Bar Boulud

Having celebrated its third anniversary this May, Bar Boulud, the award-winning French-American bistro and wine bar under the direction of Chef Daniel Boulud at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, returns to its American roots and once again celebrates Thanksgiving this November.

Bar Boulud’s American Executive Chef Dean Yasharian has designed a traditional three-course Thanksgiving menu of turkey with all trimmings, including sweet potato purée, corn bread stuffing, cranberry compote, Brussels sprouts, and with a choice of two starter and two dessert options. To accompany, Head Sommelier David Vareille will open three-litre bottles of 2010 Baron Philippe de Rothschild Mouton Cadet from his cellar, exclusively bottled for Bar Boulud in large-format, and poured at the table, priced at £11 for a 125ml glass.

Serving great wine by the glass from rare, large-format bottles is a Boulud trademark. Bar Boulud’s three-course Thanksgiving prix fixe menu is priced at £45 per person (excluding beverages) and will be available in the restaurant’s dining room on Thursday 28 November.

New for this year, guests have the opportunity to purchase Pumpkin and Pecan Pies for a Bar Boulud Thanksgiving feast at home. Head Pastry Chef Hélène Rosier creates Bar Boulud versions of the US holiday favourites; Pumpkin Pie, the traditional symbol of harvest, using pumpkin-based custard flavoured with ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg, and the Pecan Pie, the speciality of the South, made with pecans, muscovado brown sugar and milk chocolate. Bar Boulud’s Pumpkin and Pecan pies serve eight, and will be available to purchase from the restaurant throughout the Thanksgiving week beginning Monday 25 until Thursday 28 November, from 12noon until 6pm, and priced at £25 each.

Bar Boulud’s intimate private dining rooms offer the opportunity to celebrate this convivial and warm American holiday and come together with family and friends for a delicious cornucopia. Served family-style, a Thanksgiving feast in the Private Dining Rooms brings a taste of the States to London, for a maximum of 20 guests, priced at £60 per person (exclusive of beverages).

Set in bustling Knightsbridge, Bar Boulud, London is open from 12pm to 1am Monday to Saturday and from 12pm to 12am Sunday continuously for lunch and dinner.
