Brighton Centre improvements continue with new sound system installation

As part of its on-going and extensive refurbishment programme, the Brighton Centre has announced the installation of a brand, new, state of the art sound system for its main conference and exhibition space in Auditorium 1. This will further enhance the delegate experience for conference and business users.

The new system, provided by Lancing-based sound system specialist, Flare Audio, comprises a total of 10 of the company’s X5 line array modules, which will be flown in four hangs above Auditorium 1 to provide the core audio for the space. The X5 features a special three-way design and incorporates patent-pending technologies to ensure that only the sound that is put into the speaker can emerge from it, with minimal interference. The resulting sonic detail will be a boost for conference organisers using the Brighton Centre since it will lift the clarity of presentations and speeches delivered from the stage, and delegate interaction from the Auditorium floor.

“We have been blown away by the crisp and clear sound quality produced by the new X5 system,” says Howard Barden, General Manager for the Brighton Centre. “It’s a major step up on the previous system, and we’re sure that conference organisers and delegates who wish to make use of it will be as pleased as we are with the improvement in audio quality. We are committed to making the Brighton Centre the best conference venue that it can possibly be, and will continue to improve where we can to deliver on that promise.”

This latest investment follows a recent £1million refurbishment of the Brighton Centre which has completely revitalised the facility as a major conference venue. The Brighton Centre’s foyer has been extended, and thanks to the use of floor-to-ceiling windows here and in the main restaurant, the space has been transformed with ambient light flooding in and a fresh panoramic perspective over the Brighton seafront. Other improvements include 4,450 comfortable, new seats in Auditorium 1, the refurbishment of Auditorium 2, better equipped and re-decorated meeting facilities and break out rooms throughout the Centre alongside new signage, furnishings and fittings which create a fresh and vibrant new look. The Brighton Centre also offers delegates free wi-fi access via a building wide, business class 802.11g/n dual band wireless network linked to a 30Mbps leased line fibre internet connection.
