Global Conference Network unveils details of Conference Summit 2013

The Global Conference Network
The Global Conference Network has announced a strong panel of speakers and participants for this year's Conference Summit, taking place on 6 December at etc.venues’ Dexter House, London.
Since 2011, the annual event has addressed the critical issues facing the conference industry, bringing together senior professionals to debate and discuss the challenges of today's market.

The roster of speakers features experts from across the conference industry, including: Fiona Miller, Conference Director, EMAP; Giles Cummings, Divisional Director, i2i Events Group; Ros Irving, CEO, Capacity Media; and Luke Gibson, Managing Director Specialist Events Group, Euromoney Institutional Investor.

Key topics on the day's agenda include a debate on 'Is the paying delegate in terminal decline? Alternative models to meet these challenges' - one of the largest, structural challenges affecting many conference organisations today; 'The convergence of large-scale events and exhibitions and the implications for the events industry as a whole'; and 'International case study: the challenges of launching an event overseas’.

The event will also include presentations, panel debates and round table discussions where delegates will break into groups to discuss and debate specific issues. Networking will be encouraged in the smaller groups and key issues fed back to the main summit. A limited exhibition will also be integrated into the Summit.

Claire Wormsley, Managing Director of the Global Conference Network, said: "This year has seen many conference companies face challenging operating environments. These challenges are leading to some fundamental changes in the industry as well as new ideas and initiatives being launched. The Conference Summit is the largest content driven event for the industry and we are delighted to build on the success of previous years and have some of the leading innovators in the industry address these issues."
