Science of Events survey launches today: What is the correct formula for a perfect event?

As part of the ongoing Science of Events research to uncover the mystery ingredients which make up the perfect event formula, the team at Jackson Gilmour and the Science Museum have designed a survey for anyone who has ever attended a corporate event. With questions on everything from what motivates someone to attend an event in the first place to the importance of the venue and how much wine is “enough”, the team will use the data gathered to construct an evidence-based equation for the perfect event.

“This survey is fun to do, quick to complete and should throw up some interesting information.” says Jackson Gilmour Operations Director Francis O’Hagan. “To my knowledge, research on this scale has not been attempted before; we are looking forward to sharing our findings with event organisers, venue teams and suppliers all over the capital. Everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a draw to win a bespoke lunch for six prepared by us.” The survey is online at until the end of October. It forms part of the broader Science of Events project which also includes focus groups with industry experts in the Autumn and a large-scale “Event Lab” event in 2014.

Alicia Earls, Science Museum Communications Manager explains: “We are encouraging participation from anyone who has ever attended a corporate event – especially if you thought there was room for improvement. I will be particularly interested to see how the elements of the venue and surrounds affect the guest’s experience and enjoyment.”

The survey is being promoted in the events, pr, marketing, pa and catering media, as well as through social media including Twitter.
