Bruce Willis shooting movie at Central Hall Westminster

With the official box-office release of the blockbuster movie RED2 in August, Central Hall Westminster has finally been given permission to announce its involvement as a film location.
It was ‘lights, camera, action!’ at Central Hall Westminster, when central London’s largest Conference & Events Centre was transformed into a grand Parisian Hotel featuring a key scene in the film sequel of RED.

The original cast includes Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and is joined by actors Catherine Zeta-Jones and Anthony Hopkins. The first movie grossed over £130 million worldwide in 2011 and the official cinema release date is Friday 2nd August 2013. RED2 – London Film Location - Central Hall Westminster
The venue, an imposing domed building from the early 19th century, located opposite Westminster Abbey was identified as the ideal film location for the blockbuster sequel.

Mable flooring, spacious hallways and high ceilings were key characteristics for producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and location manager Martin Joy.

The Great Hall Foyer overlooking the Great Staircase is usually used for corporate event receptions, but was adapted for a key scene in the movie, when the protagonists meet the head of the Russian secret service. The scene is featured in the official trailer above at min 1:21.

The addition, the 2,000 seat capacity concert and conference auditorium, the Great Hall, functioned as backstage, make up and wardrobe space.
