‘Culinaria Theatre Experience’ comes to life at sixth Chaîne Diner Amical

Hosting its sixth Diner Amical Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s ‘Culinaria Theatre Experience’-themed dinner presented The Gourmand Chef and Seven Wonders of the Chefs, an epicurean adventure where Executive Chef Richmond Lim and his seven head chefs pushed boundaries to entice and satiate 80 Chaîne members and their guests with their culinary masterpieces.

Trout caviar and abalone carpaccio, Australian master wagyu beef served with spring vegetable nage, roasted Western Australian marron with angel hair pasta and coral cream sauce, Murray rack of lamb with piperade, nero sandwich crisp of petit seafood mousse, Sarawak pineapple sherbet infused with lemongrass and a truly indulgent gold-coated chocolate soufflé topped off with truffle infused warm chocolate sauce aptly named ‘Dark Passion’ summed up the seven-course feast, each (course) expertly paired with a selection of fine wines.

Thanking the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Malaysian chapter (Chaîne) for making the Centre the venue of choice for its annual dinner and Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the sixth time, Datuk Peter Brokenshire, General Manager, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, applauded the operations team on their creative use of swathes of cloth, dining accessories and colours to bring the ‘Culinaria Theatre Experience’ to life.

The Banquet Hall where the dinner took place was literally given a total makeover where setting was done on an elevated platform to mirror an actual theatre. Glittering giant posters of past Chaine dinners since 2007 graced the walls of the ‘theatre’.

And congratulating Chef Richmond and his Culinary team on yet another impeccable effort, a beaming Datuk Brokenshire said, “the team has never failed to impress and craft an ‘unforgettable experience’ year-on-year and the fact that each head chef spearheaded their own specialty dish this year further illustrates the growing stature of local talent in gourmet food presentation.”

An equally mesmerized Datuk Dr Jagjit Singh Sambhi, Bailli Delegue (President) of Chaine des Rotisseurs could not agree more. "The Centre’s team had created an extraordinary WOW dinner with superb fine cuisine, matched with prestigious wines and impeccable service. The ambience of the Banquet Hall was exquisite. Every minute detail was taken into account. The whole evening was ethereal and an unforgettable culinary journey.
