Over the course of the 17 hour day, Spike was greeted warmly by members all the way along his route, posing for photographs and collecting a little souvenir from each venue. He cycled 97 miles and so far has managed to raise £1,050 for charity. He crossed the finish line at Trinity House in the City of London at 10.20pm.
Moya Maxwell, Head of Commercial Programming and Chairman of UVL, comments: “We are immensely proud of Spike and his achievements today. My thanks go to all of the UVL members who met Spike along the way, fed him and cheered him on - it was an amazing effort. Spike was really touched by those who left packages with security and even a scroll tied onto railings for him to collect after hours. We are thrilled that he has managed to raise so much for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and hope that he takes it easy for a couple of days!”
All the photos from the day will be available on www.facebook.com/UniqueVenuesofLondon. Event planners can also see all the UVL members in a day later on in the year, at the Unique Venues of London Fifth Annual Expo at Vinopolis on 1 October.
