Southport’s new Casino and Cultural Centre open up events space in resort

The Atkinson cultural centre and the Southport Genting Casino
The North West coastal resort of Southport has announced the opening of two unique new conference and events spaces in the town; The Atkinson cultural centre and the Southport Genting Casino.
The much anticipated £17million arts and culture venue, The Atkinson has opened up in the centre of Southport’s famous Lord Street. Set in a grade II listed building, the complex brings together four established venues; The Cambridge Theatre and Studio, the Atkinson Art Gallery, Botanic Gardens Museum and Southport’s Central Library all under the roof of this regional multi artform venue.

This unique site presents corporate and event organisers with a multitude of event options for conferences, gigs, lectures, launches, productions, meetings or workshops. It features a 440 capacity proscenium theatre and a flexible studio with a capacity of up to 300 alongside a number of breakout spaces, galleries and much more.

Providing not only conference and events facilities but also a fantastic incentive offering to visiting delegates is the brand new state of the art Southport Genting Casino situated on the Waterfront development.

Offering both gaming and live entertainment, the Genting Casino is suitable for all kinds of events with its bar area, dance floor, stage and entertainment zone as well as conferencing facilities and a restaurant which can expand into the poker area or outdoors to overlook the stunning waterfront.

Steve Christian, Tourism Marketing & Visitor Services Manager, Southport Conferences commented; “The new venues are a really welcome addition to the town. Not only do they add to our conference and events facilities but with this type of investment comes new restaurants, bars and other leisure facilities. This coupled with an increasing amount of hotels and accommodation options, all shapes up to a complete visitor experience for delegates and leisure guests.”
