Kensington Roof Gardens plays host again to the official Pre-Wimbledon Party

Evolve Events organises WTA event for fourth consecutive year

In conjunction with Evolve Events, the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) held their prestigious pre-Wimbledon party and 40th anniversary celebration last night (June 20th).  Presented by Dubai Duty Free at the Kensington Roof Gardens the event is recognised as the precursor to the world famous Grand Slam tournament which plays between June 24 and July 8.

For the fourth successive year, the event was styled by Evolve Events and brought together over 800 guests to a celebrity packed party that drew its inspiration from the evening’s headline sponsor.  Influences of Arabic architecture featured prominently through specially commissioned light boxes and mirrored pillars.  Low sofas were dressed with plump cushions in muted hues of aquamarine, rose and rich creams.  Tealights, mirrors and floating flowers lent to the atmosphere evocative of Dubai’s opulent lifestyle.

Refreshments served throughout the evening included berry cocktails, Champagne and an array of healthy bowl and BBQ food prepared in accordance with the athlete’s strict diets.

A pink carpet welcome set the scene for the evening which saw the arrival of the world's top two seeds Maria Sharapova/Serena Williams and the UK’s leading female talent including Laura Robson and Heather Watson.  In true tradition, a gallery of celebrities including Bianca Jagger, Sascha Bailey and Keisha Buchanan also flocked to the Roof Gardens to mingle with the tennis A-listers.  .

Gary Peters, MD of Evolve Events, said: “It’s a privilege to be working on this event which really hails the start of the summer sporting season. There is no better place for an alfresco event than the Kensington Roof Gardens and we wish all the players good luck over the next fortnight.”
