The Martial Arts Expo is moving from its base for the last three years at the NEC in Birmingham to the Jaguar Exhibition Hall at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.
The interactive weekend features seminars and demonstrations from some of the world’s greatest martial artists and profiled talents from TV and film.
Events manager Kwoklyn Wan promised a weekend of martial arts magic. “Since we set-up The Martial Arts Expo four years ago, we have become the premier event in the martial arts calendar in this country,” he said. “The show at the Ricoh Arena will be the biggest we have ever organised which has involved months of planning but it will all be worthwhile once we get underway.
“We will have a combination of feature areas and special events to keep people of all ages entertained throughout the weekend.
“There will be a Fight Night, Brazilian Jiujitsu Tournament, Muay Thai Championships, MMA Seminars and the fabulous Taiko Drummers.
“We have also organised a Cinema Zone to screen some of the greatest martial arts films, and a Healthy Living Expo Zone.
“We are really excited about hosting The Martial Arts Expo at the Ricoh Arena for the first time and whether you are a dedicated follower of martial arts or know little about it, we would encourage you to come along.” Chris Owen, senior events manager at the Ricoh Arena, said this was the only martial arts show of its kind in the UK.
He said: “This will be a fantastic opportunity to meet some of the world’s greatest martial artists as part of an action-packed line-up with a variety of events for visitors to participate in or watch. “The flexibility of the Ricoh Arena is perfect for such a show which has various elements along with our central location since we are within easy reach for the majority of visitors.”
