Regus opens two street-level business lounges in New York City

Regus, the world’s largest provider of flexible workspaces, today introduced a new way to work with the opening of its flagship business lounge in New York City at 747 Third Avenue in Midtown and a second street-level lounge in the heart of Chelsea at 275 7th Avenue.

These latest investments are part of the company’s global initiative to accommodate mobile workers who are seeking out convenient locations where they can drop-in, network and stay productive while on the go.

“Research is forecasting that mobile workers will make up 40 percent of the global workforce by 2015. Relying on smartphones, tablets and laptops, these 1.3 billion workers are free to work anywhere but are often unable to locate a professional place to conduct business,” said Mark Dixon, Group CEO of Regus. To meet the needs of these remote workers, Regus has set out to offer its business services directly to mobile workers in transportation hubs that they will be using on a daily basis. In Europe, Regus’ lounges can be found in motorway service stations, petrol stations, train stations and retail parks. In Brazil, demand has also prompted Regus to open a street-level lounge in order to meet the needs of the business professionals in the market.

Our workspaces are designed to keep up with the needs of modern work habits, which include more interaction, collaboration and spontaneity.”

Starting from £35 per month, individuals can enroll in Regus’ Businessworld membership programme, giving them unlimited access to any of Regus’ 1,500 business lounges worldwide. In addition to the street-level business lounge at 747 Third Avenue, Regus has an additional two floors in the building that have collaborative open spaces, private offices and meeting rooms, which can be booked by the hour, month or year. With more than 40 locations in New York, Regus viewed it as the right time to take its offering one step further with a street-level presence.

“We have business centres at the top business addresses around the world,” said Dixon. “Demand is growing as businesses of all sizes want to be more flexible, avoiding long-term, expensive commitments. The nature of work is changing and push into third places was in direct response to the diverse needs of today’s workforce.”
