China National Convention Center (CNCC) new start, new challenge

….and the Hot New Show for China – 2nd China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) – May 28 to June 1st, 2013

With a new leadership in China there has been a new emphasis on building the services sector. May 28 to June 1st, 2013, sees the 2nd China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS 2013) running at the CNCC in Beijing.

At the inaugural show in 2012 there were over 1,721 exhibitors and well over 100,000 visitors. During the 5-day event there were 126 Conferences, Forums events and 458 projects signed representing over US$60 billion (€46.2bn or RMB368.7bn) worth of contracts. The organizers are reporting a 40% increase for the 2013 show with an additional 20,000m2 increase in the floor area; the exhibition expands from 50,000m2 to 70,000m2 in May 2013.

To meet this increase in demand the CNCC has prepared an adjacent site with clear space for a temporary structure by Losberger, a contractor for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and also the World Expo in Shanghai in 2010, adding 20,000m2 of space for use by the show organizers.

The CIFTIS 2013 show, with the theme of “Trade in Services: the New Engine for Value Enhancement”, has received more than 16 thousand visitor registrations from business agents and representatives increasing anticipated participation by 28% compared with the 2012 event. There are now more than 89 countries and regions participating in CIFTIS 2013.

As one of the sessions within CIFTIS, the negotiation meeting of the Digital Content Industry will be held on 30 May. During the session, more than 20 enterprises specialized in digital content including Google, China Unicom, Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press and Taobao E-book.
