Three Venues take on Three Peaks

Staff from IET Venues, the premier family of venues across London, Birmingham and Glasgow will take to the hills next week to begin their Three Peaks challenge in aid of Meeting Industries Meeting Needs (MINM); a charity that provides financial support for deserving causes relevant to the event industry which may not have access to public funding or additional contributions.

Justin Livesey, Venue Manager, IET Glasgow: Teacher Building, will lead a 10 strong team from across the three venues, who will have just 24 hours to climb Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike before reaching the summit at Snowdon. The maximum climbing time recommended for the three peaks is 14 hours, leaving the team just a ten hour drive, split into two journeys, to catch up on sleep in time for the next gruelling ascent.

Livesey comments, “Walking the Three Peaks demonstrates that we are taking real action to make a difference; promoting the importance of charity and above all, helping a great cause. Taking part in this challenge will also support a big group commitment of ours – to work together to raise our own corporate and social responsibility standards.”

Founded by leading figures in the UK conference and events industry, MIMN has supported causes from the likes of the Aldi Trust to organise a training event for disabled people demonstrating how computers can be made more accessible as well as raising substantial amounts of money for children that have multiple disabilities, life-limiting conditions or have been abused.

The IET Venues team will begin the trek at 12pm on 31st May. Donations can be made at
