Las Vegas – Home of the Memorial Day weekender

There are a handful of calendar dates in the year where the Vegas party scene really comes to life. Of course there are the obvious ones including July 4th (Independence Day), New Year’s Eve, Christmas and in most recent years Halloween is now ‘big event’ time. However one of the biggest, and considered the start of the summer season, is Memorial Day.

In the US, Memorial Day is always celebrated on the last Monday of May (27th). A special time to remember loved ones lost in military service…but in Vegas it’s a weekend to party like crazy!

This year ‘party like crazy’ is definitely the theme in Las Vegas and Memorial Day has the added excitement of ‘The Hangover 3’ being released the same weekend, with the wolf pack back in Sin City!

In addition the world’s most expensive club, Hakassan will be open and celebrating Memorial Day with the world’s biggest and most well paid DJ’s.

Hakassan (related to the hugely successful restaurant in London) is a $125 million mega club unlike anything Las Vegas has seen to date. Its massive 80,000-square-foot venue on five-stories including the Hakkasan restaurant and nightclub provides the ultimate magnet for the serious clubber and most beautiful and discerned holiday makers.

Guests will experience a night like nothing else. After tackling the 6 wide 2 hour line (for those without VIP/Table service) you’re escorted into one of three specially built elevators that sweep you to the top two club levels.

The main club is set up with balcony lounges and VIP suites. It’s mind blowing in size, scope and effects. A raised stage floats over the largest DJ booth in Las Vegas for dancers, models and production. Aside from the massive main room there are other clubs within the superclub for different music tastes. These include the Oriental Pavilion with a two-story waterfall, the Ling Ling Club and separate Ling Ling Lounge, plus, the main casino level Hakkasan restaurant with its dining rooms set out as “cages” watched over from the private dining rooms above. Ample space for the 6000-7000 guests to go wild from 10.30pm till 7 in the morning.

For Memorial Day Weekend at Hakassan, Tiësto starts proceedings on May 24, followed by Calvin Harris on May 25. Steve Aoki DJ’s on May 26 and deadmau5 wraps the party up on May 26.
Other top clubs in town including Marquee, XS, Surrender, Haze, Tryst, Pure and many others have stellar line ups.

Not only are the night clubs becoming packed out with clubbers but the pool parties are equally hosting top billing entertainment including a soon to be announcement of one of the worlds most famous rappers playing at R3hab at the Hard Rock Hotel, now in its 10th anniversary year.

The pool party scene has also cemented Las Vegas as the home of the club world. These day clubs also feature top billing DJ’s all under the Nevada sun with clubbers dancing of course with very little clothing. Guests can reserve daybeds, cabanas, bungalows and tables at these events to ensure VIP entry in order to have the best spots to watch the action. For many party goers getting into these events will involve a 2 hour line, high cover charge and manoeuvring around the jammed venues. The best way to experience this is to go VIP reserving a table or cabana at these events. UK and Las Vegas based travel planner High Roller Suites provides everything you need to know for VIP access to these events.

Vegas experts High Roller Suites discuss the go to events of the Memorial Day weekend. Andrew Boas, Director of both High Roller Suites and says “Memorial Day is certainly one of the main events of the Summer. This year is no exception. The line-up is just staggering and with Hakassan open the competition is fierce. I strongly feel this year Las Vegas will establish itself as the club capital of the world by a long way. We’ve no doubt our clients will experience something truly unique in town this weekend, I just feel bad for those who can’t make it!”
