Britain on the move: Regus and Staples® pilot Business Hubs to accommodate the rise in mobile workers

Mobile workers can now hold meetings and catch up with admin at the same time as buying envelopes or printer paper. A new link-up between Regus and Staples UK will see Regus Business Hubs open at Staples stores across the UK.
The Business Hubs will offer drop in facilities as well as meeting space; allowing mobile workers to meet and catch up on work in a professional business lounge as well as offering homeworkers a professional location to meet clients and suppliers close to their home. Consumers can access the hubs with a Regus Business world card or simply by buying a pass in a Staples store or by visiting Passes start from just £5 per day, and can be used at all 160 Regus centres in the UK.

Regus, the world’s largest provider of flexible workplaces, will initially trial the Business Hubs at four Staples stores: in Swindon, Reading, Sheffield and Birmingham. It’s the latest step in a trend that is improving the way millions of people work – with companies freeing their staff to work wherever it suits them, rather than requiring they commute every day to the same fixed office.

Steve Purdy, UK Managing Director at Regus, explains: “Two fifths of Britain’s workers now work half the week or more at locations other than their employer’s main office. Mobiles, tablets and cloud technology make this possible, but workers still need access to office-type facilities – even if it’s just for ten minutes to print, email, think or meet a contact. Car parks, coffee shops and home don’t always do the job. That’s why Regus has chosen to collaborate with Staples UK, the perfect working environment for the mobile worker, offering access to an A-Z of office supplies and services under one roof.”

Spencer Slee, Director, at Staples UK, concludes: “Through our close relationship with our customers, we know that more and more people are working on the move. So, offering drop-in workspace is a natural extension of the business support we give to our customers. Staples have the resource, space and expertise to provide mobile workers with everything they need when working remotely and Regus, with its excellent understanding of flexible and mobile working, is the obvious partner for this.”

The deal with Staples UK follows the launch of Regus business lounges at motorway service stations in the South East – in partnership with Extra Motorway Service Area Group; marking the next step in Regus’ roll out of Business Hubs at key locations for mobile workers including petrol and train stations across the globe.
