Simon Clayton, chief ideas officer, RefTech

(Information Security Management System) certification.

Event technology and data specialists, RefTech has achieved ISO / IEC 27001:2013 certification in information security management.  The certification confirms that the data security policies and procedures that RefTech use to handle client event data are robust and secure.
Simon Clayton, chief ideas officer, RefTech said: “Information is an asset which, like other important business assets, has value to an organisation and consequently needs to be suitably protected. We are proud to have achieved this prestigious standard which confirms that information security is of utmost importance to us and cements our position as an industry leader in this sector.

“The press reports almost weekly incidents of data or information breeches – from arms conference data being hacked to the latest Hollywood star having private images stolen from her icloud. Yet despite these frequent and high profile incidents, many event professionals don’t even have secure passwords. The events industry doesn’t take data security seriously enough and I would like to see more event data and registration companies achieving this prestigious standard.”
