CWT To GoTM voted most Outstanding App 2012 by business travellers

CWT’s mobile app recognised by GBTA’s 2012 Innovation Awards

CWT To GoTM, Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT)’s mobile app, won this year’s Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) award for Innovation of the Year in the category of “Outstanding Apps.” This category includes applications that help business travellers make best use of their time while travelling. Travellers voted for their favourite products and CWT To Go TM was the winning app from a shortlist of eleven nominees.

Available exclusively to CWT travellers worldwide via Android, BlackBerry, and iPhone devices, CWT To GoTM provides automatic synchronisation of offline and online CWT bookings, flight notifications, access to relevant trip-related information, and much more. CWT To GoTMwas developed with CWT’s e-Commerce partner, Rearden Commerce.

“We are delighted that CWT To GoTM has been recognised in this way, particularly as business travellers themselves voted for the award. We are continually looking at new ways to delight travellers by making sure they have the services they need at their fingertips; CWT To GoTM is a great example of that”, said Andrew Winterton, president suppliers, products and technology for CWT.

CWT recently reached out to those travellers using CWT To GoTM to measure their levels of satisfaction with the app and to find out what new features they would like to see. CWT saw positive results to questions on satisfaction, with over 82 percent of users declaring they would recommend the app to a colleague.

Respondents indicated that the mobile services they value and use most are those that increase their convenience and efficiency during a trip. Travellers rank automatic itinerary synchronisation as the most important mobile feature, with access to flight notifications and alerts and mobile check-in the next most popular.

“The vast majority of travellers use apps to help increase productivity and reduce stress – they are looking for apps with features that continue to give them more control over their travel experience. This type of insight is essential to help keep our products in line with what travellers need”, commented Winterton. “Mobile technology is an integral part of our strategy; we are constantly looking at how it can best be adapted to meet the needs of travellers.”

CWT is continually enhancing its offering to take into account traveller feedback. The latest updates include adding calendar synchronisation and click-to-call features.
