Amadeus to help select the next innovative travel tech product at ‘Take Off’ hackathon

Technology innovation is the driving force behind the biggest advancements in the travel industry. But fostering creativity requires a continuous stream of new ideas and inventions that can help solve some of the industry’s biggest challenges.

As part of its commitment to R&D in travel technology, Amadeus is one of the partners unveiled to support Low Cost Travel Group in a two-day hackathon to help raise awareness around technology development and encourage innovation. The ‘Take Off’ hackathon will take place in London on 7th and 8th July and will bring together developers, designers and entrepreneurs to build and pitch innovative travel technology products to a panel of expert judges.

Clare de Bono, Head of Product and Innovation for UK and Ireland at Amadeus commented: “Amadeus is passionate about supporting young tech talent in the creation of fresh business solutions. Technology is in our DNA and this event fits with our commitment to remain at the forefront of innovation in the industry and partner with customers who want to develop cutting edge technology that drives competitive advantage and brand differentiation.”

Francesco De Marchis, CTO of Low Cost Travel Group, added: “As a digital leader, I want to promote creativity and real world problem solving. There will be total freedom in terms of technology language the hackers choose to use.”
