Travelport Smartpoint offers connected agencies the chance to earn revenues on airport parking

Travelport, a leading Travel Commerce Platform providing distribution, technology, payment and other solutions for the $8 trillion global travel and tourism industry, has announced that the Airport Parking & Hotels (APH) plugin, which offers an extensive choice of UK airport parking options, is now available through its award-winning agency point of sale solution, Travelport Smartpoint.

This latest application offered through Travelport’s Marketplace means that travel agencies upsell airport parking when making flight bookings using a simple two-step process. The application automatically presents relevant parking content based on specific airport codes. The plugin is simple to use and free of charge to travel agents.

The other key features of the APH plugin include:
• The ability to pre-book airport parking and receive instant confirmation and service documents
• Parking availability and real-time quotes are shown for individual flight departures booked
• Includes the ability to integrate PNR details into the back-office system
• Allows flexible payment options to simplify and accelerate the payment process.

Phillip Morris-Simpson, New Business Development Manager at APH, said: “By tapping into the APH Airport Parking plugin through Travelport Smartpoint, travel agencies can boost revenue, save time and increase customer loyalty by offering a number of parking solutions to meet individual needs. The plugin is simple and fast to use. We look forward to continuing our work with Travelport and further developing our relationship over the years ahead.”

Simon Ferguson, Managing Director UK, Ireland and the Nordics, at Travelport, said: “We are pleased to announce this new agreement with APH which offers travel agents upsell opportunities and the end traveller convenience and peace of mind when booking airport parking in the UK. This latest development is part of Travelport’s wider strategy to invest in developing new technologies and ideas, all on an open platform that delivers expansive content and improves customer service.

Travelport offers a broad network of over 800 developers within its Travel Commerce Platform which each create their own applications therefore further strengthening our systems.”
