Advantage launches AMS for Business Travel at Travel Technology Europe

Advantage has launched AMS for Business Travel at the Travel Technology Europe/Business Travel Show today (25 February).
New Advantage member Business Travel Experts has been piloting AMS for Business Travel, which provides an innovative option for travel management companies (TMC) wishing to change their existing business model.  It also offers a platform for new start-ups looking to enter the corporate travel market.

As with AMS for Leisure, the scheme reduces costs and removes the administrative burden of running a business, whilst allowing TMCs to retain their individuality and independence.  Advantage handles licensing, legislation and payment processes, allowing members to concentrate on providing a high level of service to their corporate travel clients.

Members retain their own name which assists their marketing and offers brand continuity for existing businesses.  AMS members trade under group IATA, ATOL or ABTA licensing with the scheme providing: supplier payment administration; access to Travelport SmartPoint; access to the Micros Traveller back office system; ePDQ facility with competitive rates; negotiated and published airfares; air ticket fulfilment facility; MI reporting; access to a global air ticketing platform and the facility to book rail tickets.

The following optional services are available: a credit account facility; lodge card; self-booking tool; and access to out of hours emergency service.  Some fees may apply.

Nick Davies, director at Business Travel Experts said: “From day one, Advantage Managed Services for Business Travel has been extremely helpful and supportive, thus enabling me to concentrate on my core business.  AMS has completely removed the stress and worry of the running of the back office, which is fantastic.  It has given me the valuable time I need, to ensure I can develop my business effectively and deliver to my clients, safe in the knowledge AMS is there for me and whatever my business and back office may require.”

Colin O’Neill, business development director at Advantage Travel Partnership said: “Our existing AMS scheme for leisure travel agents has been a great success.  We were always committed to launching AMS for Business Travel to provide a similar service for TMCs centred around licensing, assistance with airfares, the global hotel programme and training, so we are pleased to welcome Business Travel Experts as our first such member.”
