Association members were greeted at the airport by representatives from Lausanne and received a free Lausanne Transport Card and Swiss Transfer Ticket on arrival, enabling them free access to all public transport and discount on a number of attractions. The journey began with a visit to the historic venue, Portes des Iris where guests were provided a light lunch. This was followed by a tour of the new SwissTech Convention Centre and a cooking class and dinner at Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne with a top chef.
The following day guests visited their four star hotel, De La Paix, before joining a Foxtrail hunt followed by a trip to Lavaux Vineyard Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where they were treated to a fine wine tasting experience at the Domaine du Daley. Lunch was served in the centre of the vineyard at the restaurant Tout un Monde and concluded with a guided tour of the newly renovated Olympic Museum including its events and meeting spaces.
Olivier Mathieu, Congress and Meetings Manager at Lausanne Tourism & Convention Bureau, says: “The fam weekend was a huge success. I hope it has helped to strengthen Lausanne’s position as a leading attraction for both business travelers and association tourists as well as demonstrate our ability to host large scale international events at a variety of venues across the city.“
