On July 14th a charity gala dinner and auction will be hosted at Le Richemond in support of the Swiss Red Cross. The proceeds of the ticket sales and auction will support the Syrian refugees in Lebanon and the local community with food parcels.
Established in 1977, the Club des Chefs des Chefs is an exclusive club of current personal chefs of heads of state such as President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama’s executive chef Cristeta Comerford, and Prince Albert of Monaco’s head chef Christian Garcia.
Recent visits have included London, New York, Moscow and Berlin. In 2013 they were received in Washington by President Barack Obama at The White House.
Founder Gilles Bragard commented: “The role of these chefs is to support and emphasize their country’s gastronomy, promote health and wellbeing, and uphold the highest standards of cuisine. The Club des Chefs des Chefs helps to develop these themes amongst its members.”
At the special gala dinner the club’s chefs will contribute to an once-in-a-lifetime five course dinner menu, which will offer classics dishes from each of the country’s culinary representatives.
The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 7.30pm, giving guests the opportunity to meet the club's chefs and executive chef at Le Richemond, Chef Philippe Bourrel. Chef Joe Barza will join the Club for one evening to represent Lebanese cuisine and has created a selection of traditional dishes to accompany the cocktails. Dinner highlights include the famous oeuf drumkilbo and risotto with herbs.
An auction will be held at the end of the gala with prestigious lots including a private five course dinner for ten people cooked by the Chef of Prince Albert, weekend breaks at Dorchester Collection’s Plaza Athénée Paris and The Dorchester London, kitchen uniforms signed by the chefs and a one-week stay at the Sugar Beach Viceroy, a luxury 5 star Caribbean property in Saint Lucia.
Chef Philippe Bourrel commented: “I am honoured to welcome this event to Le Richemond as it is a great opportunity to showcase Geneva’s finest produce and wines.
“Le Richemond, which is celebrating its 140 anniversary this year, has been proud to welcome heads of state and dignitaries throughout its history so it the ideal choice for this prestigious event.”
After their visit to Geneva, where they will explore the old city, enjoy a boat cruise on the lake, and visit the United Nations. The Chefs will travel to Gruyere and Berne, where they will stay at the Bellevue Palace, the Swiss Confederation’s official state guesthouse before leaving for the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan, part of Dorchester Collection.
