Travel Technology Europe launches Disrupt a platform to showcase the brightest ideas in the sector

Travel Technology Europe 2015 is upon us and, on Wednesday 25th February 2015 the event will launch ‘Disrupt’, a brand new feature aimed at showcasing the very best new ideas that the industry has to offer.   Sessions within this zone will all focus around innovation and the next big thing in travel technology.

Disrupt offers a unique platform from which to showcase Europe’s latest and most innovative products relevant to the travel industry.  A number of start-up companies will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style panel in a series of interactive sessions.  The audience will vote for their favourite idea and the winner will win free mentoring, PR support and a stand at next year’s TTE.

Pitches will take place in two sessions on the first day of the event, at 12 noon – 1pm and at 3pm – 4pm.  Each company will have a 10 minute slot in which to pitch their idea and those competing for the top prize will include: SpeedRez, Veedback, Tripmule, GuestU, Upgrade-Digital, DataPortcullis, Waynaut, Splitcab and PaybyGroup.  Following the pitches, the judges will choose their top three, who will then be asked to re-pitch on the second day, before the winning Disruptor is chosen, along with two highly commended.

This exciting new ‘Disrupt’ feature is launched in association the Traveltech Lab, a joint venue between London & Partners, the capital’s official promotional company, and The Trampery, a leading provider of shared-workplaces renowned for inspiring innovation and creativity. The Traveltech Lab is the UK’s first incubator hub for this market and aims to inspire and support revolutionary traveltech businesses that have the potential to transform the global tourism market.  Located within London & Partners central London offices the incubator will provide shared workspace and networking support for the capital’s emerging traveltech industry.  The partnership between London & Partners and ‘Disrupt’ brings together two like-minded entities to encourage development amongst start-up businesses, allowing innovation and growth through shared ideas.

The judging panel is chaired by Lee Hayhurst, Editor of Travolution, who is joined by Tom Day of London & Partners; Matt Zito, Managing Partner of and Toby Tait, Product Manager Premium Business Services, Gatwick Airport.
